In residence in the Gaspé
Stephen Lawson, Shauna Janssen and Aaron Pollard (Montreal, Québec)
The three artists will do a creative residency from August 9 to 17 in the Gaspé territory. A call for participants has been sent to the community to take part in this visual and collective creation project. Once completed, the TracadiècheARCADE project will be installed in front of Quai des arts, in Carleton-sur-Mer, and it will be presented beginning August 18. The video and sound installation will serve as a “boutique” and present a special collection of shoeboxes containing miniature scenes filmed by the artists and the public.
Jean-François Hamelin and Sara A. Tremblay (Montreal, Québec)
The two artists were selected in the spring of 2016, from among roughly 100 applications received, to be part of the first photographic assignments in Québec. They will be in residence in the Gaspé territory between June and December 2016. Jean-François Hamelin will focus on the region from the geological point of view and visit a number of towns on the peninsula, while Sara A. Tremblay will spend a month walking the International Appalachian Trail.
